Cranberries, A North American Superfruit (LINC 4: Health and Safety: pgs. 471-474)

• Discuss cranberries and other fruits native to North America
• Discuss what a superfood/superfruit is
• Listen to the Audio twice and complete Exercise 1 and 2
• Use Exercise 3 to reconstruct the recipe in the Audio for Cranberry Sauce

How to Prepare a Healthy Snack (LINC 4: Health and Safety: pgs. 476-477)

• Discuss what a "Healthy Snack" is and isn`t. Get examples from the class.
• Explain the task to the class (i.e. that they are going to describe a recipe for a healthy snack to a partner).
• Hand out the "Prepare to Speak" handout and go over the instructions with the class.
• Have students fill out the handout while providing any assistance they might need.
• Before the students begin describing their recipe to their partner, go over the Listener Roles (distribute "Prepare to Listen" handout)
• Partners describe their recipes for healthy snacks to each other.

• Read "The Human Genome Project" and choose the correct grammatical strutures (pg. 92)
• Read "Genetic Job Loss" and discuss the issues and comprehension questions (pg. 93)
• Review vocabulary in the "Language and Culture" section (pg. 95)
• Watch "Your Genetic Profile" video twice and answer questions (pg. 98 A)
• Write answers to the opinion/fact questions (pg. 98 B)
• Prepare for debate on the issues of genetic research (pg. 129)

Resume Writing

• Finish the resume worksheets in your file (started last week).
• Using the computer, start typing in your information using the same categories as the worksheet (i.e. do not format it into any type of resume just yet). Spell check your work and save it to the desktop.
